Design is narrative

Customer engagement requires more than compelling images and text. The Visual Designer's role is to give form to the journey from value proposition to solution. With over 20 years experience at organizations like Apple, Dell Technologies, and agencies like Razorfish, I have contributed to the success of large projects, always steering toward the main message narrative.

Primary Skills

Most of my recent experience has been Senior Visual Design for online global marketing, designing web pages, UI, icons, banners, and shaping branding decisions through researched A/B testing. Seeing through the final approved designs to their finished production art is a particular expertise that I bring to projects, including photo editing, Gen AI, and accessibility standards.

On the back side of the process I organize asset management, often writing guidelines for companies to follow, establishing image standards and even protocols for the use of AI in images. As part of the written guidelines, I have been responsible for the presentation of this information to team members and I have stepped in to lead internal projects.

Secondary Skills

My experience with code writing and UX wire framing/prototyping has often placed me in the unique position of communicator between UX and Web Development teams, allowing for the efficient cross-flow of ideas for the quick and efficient progress of projects. Likewise, my video editing and animation capabilities gives me broader insight on what is possible in page design.

Technical Skills

As many of us in the industry have broad knowledge of software, I have found that the best use of software is in the discretionary simplicity of its employment so that the narrative of the visual communication is clear and unencumbered by extraneous digital effects.

• Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects)

• PowerPoint and the standard suite of Microsoft Office

• Figma, Figjam, XD, Axure

• AEM (Adobe Experience Manager), CS (Content Studio)
